Literature • The ‘richness’ of contents and systems is the critical factor for e-learning (Hsu et al, 2002). • Internet transmission speed and stability is one of the most significant factors that affects e-learning for achievement (Chen & Lin, 2002). • Five factors of effectiveness were identified including instructors’ characteristics, students’ behavior and attitude, interactive applications, technology and system and institutional factors (Poon et al, 2004) • Technical factors play dominant role in determining the effectiveness of an e-learning portal (Tan et al, 2005).

  8. Research Methods • the anonymous questionnaires were distributed to students who are currently pursuing their second year study in one of the four diploma programmes in UniKL IIM • Population: 363 • Total sample: 216 (59.5%)

  9. Finding: Demographic profile Table 1: Demographic profile of the respondents (n=214): frequency totals are >214 due to multiple answers.

  12. Conclusions • Dominant factors: Technical factors • Positive attitudes towards e-learning initiatives in UniKL IIM • Key difficulties: • Lack on help on signing in the portal. • Internet connection • Irregularly content updated discouraged the students from accessing the portal.
