I don’t Like This Sermon • I don’t like telling someone “_______” is sinful.Typically – I am called judgmental. • I don’t like reading a passage of scripture that explicitly reveals something as being sinful.Typically – I am misreading/using the passage. • I don’t like losing relationships that I cherish.You shouldn’t like it either.

But, it is necessary • I am a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 2 Tim. 4 • I must “preach the word…reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.” v. 2 • I do this knowing: people “will not endure sound doctrine”. V. 3 • They will: turn their ears away from the truth. V. 4 • For this I must fulfill my ministry. V. 5

  4. Old Testament • Our covenant is with Jesus Christ – we are not under the Old Testament. • That said, simply note these passages and what God’s word revealed: • Genesis 19:5 • Leviticus 18:22 • Leviticus 20:13

Bring them out unto us, that we may rape and humiliate them.   15. Summary • What the passages do not condemn: Two men/women who have a genuine love for one another. • What the passages condemn: Sexual relations of any kind outside the marriage covenant, including same-sex (“homosexual”) relations.

  16. Our Response • Godly love and concern for those involved in homosexual relationships. 1 Cor. 6:11 • DO NOT have a “more holy than thou” attitude or demeanor. Cp. Romans 1-3 (3:23-26) • REMEMBER: there are brethren who are closet homosexuals and believe God’s word but are afraid to “come out” for fear of how Christianswill react to them. Gal. 6:1-2
