Drive Commissioning Assistant for First-Timers

This Assistant guides you through the initial commissioning steps for configuring a drive. Easily set up parameters and configurations with a few clicks. Choose Assisted commissioning via the Project Navigator or directly using a button. Follow prompts to define the motor, encoder settings, control preferences, and input/output configurations. Generate a script file for simplified series commissioning. Download the configuration into the drive to finish the commissioning process smoothly.

  1. An Assistant navigates you through the first commissioning steps. Always use this Assistant if you are commissioning a drive for the first time. This Assistant will navigate you step-for-step through all of the necessary entries. You can completely configure the drive with just a few clicks.

  2. You can select the Assisted commissioning function using • The Project Navigator or • Directly using the button The entry window for assisted commissioning opens.

  3. If you are working with a demonstration unit: Click on the button demonstration device. The demonstration device dialog box opens. Acknowlege with OK.

  4. You can define the motor in this window. All Siemens motors can be selected using their Order No. The rating plate data only has to be entered for unlisted (e.g. third party) motors. Acknowledge with Next, in order to follow the assisted commissioning.

  5. The Assistant then navigates you through the motor encoder, machine encoder, setpoints, control up to the input/output configuration. Select the inputs/outputs that you require and acknowledge with Next.

  6. A dialog box opens. With the checkbox activated, a script file is additionally generated in order to simplify series commissioning. At the end, the previously selected data is combined. If everything is OK, acknowledge with accept configuration. Click on OK, in order to download the configuration into the drive. This completes the first commissioning.
