  10. Angelic Scripture Or?

  11. First form: Theban Widely accepted as the an Angelic scripture. Form seen is “informal” where as there is a more “formal” scripture that is much like modern day cursive. Second form: Angelic True Angelic Scripture. No informal or formal ways of writing, just lines and dots! (Simple, eh?) Angelic Scripture (cont)

  12. Cultural Influences • Angels exist everywhere. • Seen by those of varying religions and even those who are atheist, or agnostic. • Depicted as the common – manlike appearance. • Sometimes as mythical creatures (humanoid or monstrous – i.e. Leviathan)

  13. Cultural Influences (cont) • Ancient Egypt • Pharaoh Akhenaton winnowed pantheon of gods under Aten, the sun god – the all powerful. • Declared Aten as the one true god, ruling over the other gods; Set, Isis, Geb and Osiris. • Akhenaton passes away and his successor restored old pantheon of gods but kept the imagery Akhenaton created.

  14. Cultural Influences (cont) • Persia • Zoroaster, a prophet, declared that only one God be the true god worth sending prayers to – Ahura Mazda. • Government protested, Zoro relented and brought back old members of the pantheon at diminished roles. • Assigned old gods diminished roles under Ahura Mazda. • Renamed as “Bounteous immortals” and “Good Spirits” • Alexander the Great decimated most fractal religions and their offshoots. Zoroaster and followers were hurting. • Fled to India, where they began calling themselves the Parsees. • Eventually the religion assimilated into Hindi. • Believed their God, Ahura Mazda, was dead but his assistants and brethren continue on for him.

  15. Cultural Influences (cont) • Native Americans • Angels have bird-like aspects • Often seen as messengers or assassins for the Gods. • Pantheon much resembled those of other religions in ancient time, though more closely tied to nature, rather than celestial.
