  2. ZoologyMonday (10/19/09) Objective: Students will assess their learning on Chapter 29. Study for your test on Chapter 29. When you are finished with your test, put your test and scantron on my desk and pick up a Chapter 30 Directed Reading and a copy of your Chapter 30 notes. Remember: Chapter 29 Directed Reading is due today. Make sure to put it in the period drawer before you leave.

Science Skills Wednesday(10/21/09) Please write the question and the answer to the following questions from Ch. 23, Sect. 1: • Asexual reproduction in seeded plants will use mitosis or meiosis? • Asexual reproduction in seeded plants will require one or two parents? • Will asexual reproduction in seeded plants use egg or sperm? • What are at least three parts of the plant that can be used for asexual reproduction? • What is a tuber and is it sexual or asexual reproduction? • What is a runner and is it sexual or asexual reproduction? • What is grafting and is it sexual or asexual reproduction? • What is a cutting and it is sexual or asexual reproducton?

Science Skills Thursday(10/22/09) Write the question and answer to the following questions from Ch. 23, Sect 2: • List flower parts that are male, female, or neither: sepal, petal, stamen, pistil, ovule • What are two types of pollination? • How many sperm are needed to vertilize one ovule? • List the steps of fertilization. • What is the difference between cross pollination and self pollination?

Science Skills Friday (10/23/09) Write the question and answer to the following questions from Ch. 23, Sect. 2 • Draw the parts of the flower from Figure 23-7 on page 489 and label each part. • From your study guide, draw the female parts of the flower and label them. • From your study guide, draw the male parts of the flower and label them. • If I have a plant that reproduces asexually from a tuber, is it reproducing by mitosis or meiosis? • Draw what cross-pollination looks like (hint: from study guide). • Draw what self-pollination looks like (hint: from study guide).
