  1. PostSecret • PostSecret.com is a recent online phenomenon that allows people all over the world to express deep, long-hidden secrets about their lives. • All one has to do is send an anonymous postcard with a visual representation of their secret(s) to the provided address, and the webmaster will select new cards to post online every week. • Since the cards are sent anonymously, people are more willing and able to open up about something they would otherwise never talk about with another person. 2. Expectations • I expect that your poem will look professional and as though you put some effort into its construction.  Does this mean that you need to decorate your poem or print it out on decorative paper with a crazy font?  Absolutely not.  But I will be disappointed if your poem looks like a rough draft (i.e. written hastily in pencil or pen on a sheet of notebook paper.) • I expect that you will take this assignment seriously and that your poem will be respectful in tone and content.  Your poem may take on any tone you feel best encapsulates the experiences in the PostSecrets you have chosen (humorous, sad, angry, joyful, etc.).  However, under no circumstances may you take a mocking or sardonic tone, nor may your poem “attack” another individual. • Find at least 20 lines– you may also add your own lines for fluency.
