  6. Drivers Security Task Force • Joint effort between GO Transit and Local 1587 • Established Fall 2001 with 4 members • Expanded in Spring 2005 to 9 members Objectives: • Review security incidents • Provide input to procedures and new technology • Proposals to reduce cash carried by drivers

Security Initiatives • Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) • On-board camera/event recorder • Security alert message on destination sign • Radio system – emergency alert feature • System Security Awareness training (Corporate) • Security escalation procedures • Stats development • Review/revise 10-code priority language • Lockable on-board compartments for drivers • Spike flares replaced with triangles • Partnership with CUTA initiatives

Security Initiatives cont… • Transit Enforcement: • Presentation to new drivers • Handbook – Crime Prevention Guidelines • Increased patrol and visibility • Enforcement dispatch to back up Bus Operations • Cash Handling: • Extend cash-in hours/locations • Interac transactions • Relocation of BTI readers • Ticket vending machines • Drivers cash-in window at facilities • GTA Fare System project
