  5. Install Oracle Client 10.2.0.1.0 • Select „Administrator” mode

  6. Install Oracle Client 10.2.0.1.0 • Specify home details

  7. Install Oracle Client 10.2.0.1.0 • Ensure that prerequisites are met.

  8. Install Oracle Client 10.2.0.1.0 • Press install

  9. Install Oracle Client 10.2.0.1.0 • Configuration assistant shows up • Leave „Perform typical configuration” unchecked

  10. Install Oracle Client 10.2.0.1.0 • Use default • Make sure „Local Naming” is selected

  11. Install Oracle Client 10.2.0.1.0 • Enter „Service Name” of your remote Oracle Database Server. • We used ORCL in our case.

  12. Install Oracle Client 10.2.0.1.0 • Choose „TCP” protocol.

  13. Install Oracle Client 10.2.0.1.0 • Specify the host name of the database.

  14. Install Oracle Client 10.2.0.1.0 • Choose „Yes, perform a test” option.

  15. Install Oracle Client 10.2.0.1.0 • Click „Change Login” button and specify credentials to your database.

  16. Install Oracle Client 10.2.0.1.0 • Verify that test completes successfully.

  17. Install Oracle Client 10.2.0.1.0 • For „Net Service Name” use default value which is the same as Service Name. • It was ORCL in our case. • Press next and finish creating configuration. • Finish installation

  18. Install Oracle Client 10.2.0.1.0 • The tnsnames.ora file was created in default location after you finished Oracle Client installer. You can find the tnsnames.ora file in %ORACLE_HOME%/client_1/NETWORK/ADMIN • Create TNS_ADMIN system variable and set value to directory above (e.g. c:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\NETWORK\ADMIN) • Reboot For details see Oracle documentation: http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B10131_02/post_install.htm#CHDFHDJA

Configure Framework Manager • Copy „Gateway URI” from „IBM Cognos Configuration (from TCR)” to „Gateway URI” in „IBM Cognos Configuration (in Framework Manager)” • Copy „External dispatcher URI” from „IBM Cognos Configuration (from TCR)” to „Dispatcher URI for external applications” in „IBM Cognos Configuration (in Framework Manager)”

  27. Import model and sample reports to TCR • Copy the $COLLATION_HOME/etc/reporting/TADDMPackage.zip package from the TADDM server to the TCR_component_dir\Cognos\deployment directory of the Tivoli Common Reporting server

  28. Import model and sample reports to TCR • Open Common Reporting in TIP (https://localhost:16311/ibm/console/logon.jsp) • Select „Admin” from „Launch” drop down menu

  36. Publish model using Framework Manager • Start IBM Cognos 8 Framework Manager. • Create a new project.

  37. Publish model using Framework Manager • Enter credentials for your TCR (TIP) installation.

  38. Publish model using Framework Manager • Enter credentials for your TCR (TIP) installation once again.

  39. Publish model using Framework Manager • Close the project. • Overwrite model.xml file, from your Cognos Framework project directory, with model.xml from TADDM installation ($COLLATION_HOME/etc/reporting/tcr/model.xml ) • Start Cognos Framework Manager and open your project

  40. Publish model using Framework Manager • Clear the Schema field in Data Source properties.

  43. Configure Data Source in TCR • Open „Common Reporting” in TIP • Navigate to „Administration”

  44. Configure Data Source in TCR • Select „Configuration” tab • Press „New Data Source”

  45. Configure Data Source in TCR • Type „CMDBTCR” in data source name. This data source name is referenced in model therefore you have to name this data source as „CMDBTCR”.

  47. Configure Data Source in TCR • Specify Oracle Database „Service Name” in „SQL*Net connect string”. This is Service Name you specified in Oracle Net Configuration Assistant in previous steps. If you have forgotten this value you can check this value in %TNS_ADMIN%/tnsnames.orafile • Specify Oracle user and password for your SID
