  5. The Speech Numbers show that ratings on a major television networks are drastically deceasing and that more people are focusing their time on streaming sites and even watching older series that are no longer on the air. The reason for this could be because the quality of current programming is dry and over used. It’s time for fresh ideas from a new generation of creative minds. Every teenage girl in the years 2003 and 2007 remember those four years and many after as being the years where television brought them joy and spoke the truth of what being a teenager is really like. The truth, the heart and the humor spoke wonders to the viewers of shows such as, The OC, One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, Friends and many, many more. The connection to these shows and the characters was what allowed some these shows to reach ten seasons and still, today making people want more. This was a quality that made those years and the ones before deemed as the ‘golden age’ of television. As a proud viewer and true fan of all shows mentioned previously I am on a quest to create a show that will be provide the youth of today quality programming and the chance to have the same viewing experience we all once had.

  6. Speech Continued In the process of creating this show I thought about the two shows that spoke to me the most in high school (and college) and thought why not combine the best qualities of each show and create on mega sensation. With that concept bring together Josh Schwartz, the wonderful mind behind The O.C and Gossip Girl and teams him together with Mark Schwahn, the creator of One Tree Hill and allows them create magic. The idea for the show comes from taking the sweet and funny of The O.C., the glitz and glamour of Gossip Girl, the suburban, “normal” lives displayed in One Tree Hill and the wealth and the drama of all three shows and BOOM, you get the people of Fairfeild County Connecticut. The streets of Fairfeild County are filled with Ranger Rovers, Mercades, Lilly Print, Vineyard vines, Brooks Brothers, tennis courts, country clubs, private schools, mega mansions and mini fifth avenues where you can do some light shopping on the weekends. I say this and your probably thinking this sounds like a world of a bunch of pertinacious people that look like a J. Crew catalog threw up on them, which yes, can be true for most of their population but the truth is, under all that Prada and Hermes are some down to earth families who don’t need to show off their money, and they raise kids who break the stereotype. Black Rock County will speak to the new generation of teenagers and open their eyes to a life that exists outside of the iphone and will make the viewers feel connected to the characters and story lines that will hopefully keep the show alive for a decade of air time.
