The Fellowship Program • Combines three options • Graduate degree in Environmental Systems Engineering (water, wastewater, solid waste) • Operator certification in at least one service • Internship at U.S. service provider • Recruit graduates from foreign universities • Assist with placement at service provider agency in student’s home country • Encourage similar programs abroad

  6. Partners to date • At UVA • Systems Engineering, Environmental Eng. • Center for Global Health – MPH program • U.S. Service Providers • 3 Major Solid Waste • 1 Private Water, 2 Major Wastewater • International • Tobago, Philippines, S. Africa, Morocco

  7. Student Requirements • Meet standard entry requirements for graduate study at a U.S. university • GRE, TOEFL, Visa • Agree to work in the water and sanitation sector in their home country for at least one year immediately after graduation from this program
