    1. OIF-III – Tropo Satellite Support Radio 04278UA Project Image Description Requested by II MEF. 2nd FSSG has a requirement for ten (10) Trop Satellite Support Radios (TSSR's) for the pending OIF II/III Deployment. As documented in MEF after action reports, recent experience in OIF identified the need for Tropo Satellite Support Radios (TSSR's) to be used in the C4 architecture. These line-of-sight microwave radios can be used in place of long fiber optic or coaxial cables runs and have a range of 5 miles. TSSR's would enhance the communications capabilities of the 2nd FSSG by allowing quicker, safer, and less centralized installation of communication equipment. This has a direct impact on the ability of the FSSG to command and control CSS operations and exchange vital logistical information. Proposed Solution Fully Funded, using BTR. Total of 10 systems were requested. Status (as of 16 June 05) Under contract. Estimated initial delivery date of 15 July 05.
