  7. How did we do? • Describe your overall experience with having a child care health consultant in your center.

  8. How did we do? • “My experience with child care health consultation has been a positive one.  The consultant helped our center with evaluation of the class rooms, relationships between teachers and children as well as the individual teacher's educational opportunities in the classroom, immunization audits and providing changed GA immunization requirements, parent education, and staff wellness.  All of the above services helped our center became ready for our Standards of Care evaluation.  We received "Center of Recognition“ even though we have only been open for a year and a half and we did not receive the year of tech support from the Standards of Care Program (long story :)!)  The child care consultant is always available for our center for questions regarding health, safety, or state requirements.”

  9. How did we do? • How would you describe the relationship you have with your consultant? •  ”I have a great relationship with our consultant.  I can call her at anytime with questions or support.”

  10. How did we do? • What are some of the things that you feel has changed in your center as a result of having a consultant on board? Do you find the assessments and surveys helpful? Which assessments are most helpful? Least helpful?

  11. How did we do? • “By having a child care consultant on board, we have been made aware of areas for improvement and areas in which we have strengths. These assessments were done using ITERS/ECERS tool.  Because the consultant can assess and "see" things in which the teacher or myself can not always see. I found the use of the ITERS/ECERS the most beneficial assessment for our center.  (Even though, I find the tool subjective in areas and hard to use unless one observes for several days).  The assessments by the consultant gave our center and teachers areas in which to improve.  The least helpful for me was the staff wellness survey/tool-Very few staff took advantage of the survey-”

  12. How did we do? • Do you consider the interaction and monthly visits worth you time and effort? • “I would consider the interactions and monthly visits worth my time and effort.  Any effort to improve my center is worth my time.  The consultant was concise with her time and did not waste time during the visits. Visits were set up in advance to assure the day/time would be good for me as well.”

  13. How did we do? • Would you recommend child care health consultation to other child care providers? • “I would recommend child care health consultation to other child care providers.  This is a way to help improve your center and provide you and your staff with information needed to have a quality child care program.”

  24. Marketing Tips • Marketing tips every 10-12 days • March 26- April 30

  25. Tips to Date • Hi everyone!I just wanted to touch base with all of you this month.  I hope that if your March came in like a lion it will go out like a lamb!!  The social marketing toolkits were given to the nurse managers earlier this year and each of you should look through it.  I know that you are all very busy.  If you do not have the time to hang the posters that are included, consider asking a support staff person if they could hang them in the lobby so that clients can see them.  This will get some of the social marketing for child care health consultation started.  It may spark an interest with parents who will ask their child care provider about consultation.  Over the next few weeks I will stay in touch with ideas of how to use the items in the toolkit.  We want these items to be put to good use.  I appreciate all that you do and the time you put into child care health consultation.

  26. Tips to Date Hi Consultants!!  Next week ask some of the nurses to place one of the CCHC social marketing tent cards from the toolkit on their desks.  Then clients can read them when they are in a nurse's office.  Also put one or two in the lobby area, maybe at the sign in board.  If you have room on the countertop in the women's restroom, put one there so that moms can read it while washing hands!!  Maybe it will attract them to the sink and the WILL wash their hands!!I hope you all have (had) a wonderful Easter weekend!

  27. Tips to Date Hi Everyone! Just a reminder about marketing Child Care Health Consultation. In your toolkit there is a CD with a powerpoint presentation that could be given at a collaborative meeting, PTA meeting or other community event to make the people in your area aware of CCHCs. I taught a DHR training this past Saturday and took ten Business marketing kits with me. All of them were taken and several people asked if I could get more. There is an interest and the interest will grow as people learn more about this service. I know you are all very busy and overloaded but if you can set aside just a few minutes to market this program it could have a great return. Thanks again for your help! Cathy

  28. Tips to Date Hi Everybody! Hope your week has gone well. I think that we have successfully rescheduled the Update for June 18th from 9am - 12 noon. You will not need to bring anything but yourself!! Be sure to dress cool and bring a sweater because we never know how the temperature in the room will be! It won't be long til the new district building will be open and we can have meetings in a much nicer atmosphere. I hope that you have been able to use your social marketing kits to some degree. There are brochures in the kit that can be used at community meetings such as Family Collaborative meetings or Chamber meetings. These can also be used to give to center directors to "whet their appetites" about CCHC and Healthy Child Care ETC. If you have been able to use any of the tools in the kit, please share this at our meeting. Looking forward to seeing you! Cathy
