  3. IAP 2008 • All the activities have been carried out with the exception of the conference on IBSE High School Teaching convoked by the National Sciences Resources Center in USA. The conference did not take place within the year. The USD$3,000 assigned to this activity were applied to activities in Peru, Dominican Republic and the workshop in Costa Rica

  11. Dominican RepublicTraining the trainers workshopThe workshop was part of the program to launch the IBSE program “La Ciencia en tu Escuela” in the Dominican Republic. February 25-26, 2009 • There was participation of high government officials, the Academy of Sciences, two universities, and 60 teachers from 10 schools where the program is going to be implemented. • Five experts from IBSE projects from Mexico, Chile and Colombia acted as facilitators in the workshops. US$2,000 were authorized for this activity. • Money was lent by the Dominican Republic Academy of Science and must be reimbursed with the second installment of the TWAS contract. • IAP IANAS SEP …………..…………………………………...   12. Colombia.Latin-American workshop on IBSE Assessment and program evaluation, 26 and 27 January 2009. Bogotá, Colombia • Seven foreign participants: Enrique Vazini (Argentine), Rosa Cardoso (Perú), Danielle Grynzpan (Brazil), María Heller (Panamá) Patricia López (Chile), María Alejandra González and Claudia Robles (México). • A total of 25 people participated, seven foreign participants from LatinAmerican countries with IBSE projects, two Colombian experts who are working their PH.D. thesis in Standford and Aalborg Universities on evaluation, using data from the Colombian IBSE project and sixteen people from different regions of Colombia. • The evaluation efforts and results of Chile, Colombia, Panama, México and Brazil were presented and discussed and information was exchanged. • USD $1,500 from IAP–IANAS SEP were authorized for this activity. • Money was lent by the Colombian Academy of Sciences and must be reimbursed with the second installment of the TWAS contract. • USD $1,500 from IAP–IANAS were authorized …………………..…… USD $ 1,500 • Additional Support: OEA – FEMCIDI…………………..…… USD $ 5,000 • Local support …..……………………… USD $ 6,540 • Total cost of activity ……..……………………………………………….   14. IANAS 2009 IAP BUDGETARY PROPOSAL Note: The amounts for the VI Focal Points Meeting 2009 ($10,000) and the IndagaLa Meeting ($5,000) are already fixed. Other amounts are subjected to change and will depend on total budget approved by IAP.
