  2.   In today's modern world, the fibre optic cables have become an integral part of               communication, IT, and defence sectors around the world. When tech experts         upgraded from copper cables to fibre optic cables, it drastically changed and             enhanced the process of data transmission. Here's why fibre optic cables are           considered better than other materials, especially copper cables.                                                        Distance  The distance factor is one of the chief aspects of fibre optic cable's               widespread demand and popularity. Although fibre optic cables suffer a         similar weakening of the waveform like the copper cables, they are sturdier           than its contemporaries by rendering ultra-fast speed at lengths bigger than           what most copper cables offer. While copper cables are ideal for up to 100             meters, they would pose a range of additional problems at extra lengths. Fibre               optic cables can reach up to 24 miles with a consistent result for a               comparatively longer period.                                                                                               Speed  Fibre optic cables are faster than normal cables. In data transmission, the             speed is measured in terms of bandwidth. The advancement in technologies             and advent in innovations have greatly improved the standard speed of           transmission that today it has increased to gigabits and terabits. The           improved speed is measured in terms of gigabytes of data per second and           terabytes of data per second. While the speed of transmission of an average             copper cable is capped at 40 Gbps, the speed of fibre optic cables is equal to               the speed of light. It is capable of transmitting hundreds of terabits every                 second, making it a swift and agile network.                                                                                                          Space  The slimmer the cables the more appealing and practical they are. Fibre optic             cables are very narrow and are measured in terms of microns. They are as             narrow and thin as a human hair strand. Even with protective sheathing, the                                                         © 2020-2021 All Rights Reserved, No part of this document should be modified / used without prior consent. 3.   overall thickness of the fibre optic cables does not exceed 2 millimetres,             which makes it ideal for subsea fibre optic cable installation.            Durable  One of the biggest problems that turnkey fibre optic project management             teams face is cable interferences. The fibre cables are upgraded to overcome             and avoid such interferences proving beneficial for the project team.                        Although Fibre cables are more expensive than copper cables, the benefits           that they provide are huge compared to other materials.
