Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful

1. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

2. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful إلـٰهِي أَتَرَاكَ بَعْدَ الإِيْمانِ بِكَ تُعَذّ ِبُنِي، My God, what thinkest You? Will You chastise me after my faith in You?

3. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful أَمْ بَعْدَ حُبّـِي إيَّاكَ تُبَعّـِدُنِي، Drive me far away after my love for You?

4. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful أَمْ مَعَ رَجائِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ وَصَفْحِكَ تَحْرِمُنِي، Deprive me while I hope for Your mercy and forgiveness?

5. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful أَمْ مَعَ اسْتِجارَتِي بِعَفْوِكَ تُسْلِمُنِي؟ Forsake me while I seek sanctuary in Your pardon?

6. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful حَاشَا لِوَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيمِ أَنْ تُخَيّـِبَنِي، How could Your generous face disappoint me?!

7. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful لَيْتَ شِعْرِي، I wish that I know -

8. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful أَلِلشَّقاءِ وَلَدَتْنِي أُمّـِي، Did my mother bear me for wretchedness?

9. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful أَمْ لِلْعَناءِ رَبَّتْنِي؟ Did she nurture me for suffering?

10. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful فَلَيْتَهَا لَمْ تَلِدْنِي وَلَمْ تُرَبّـِنِي، If such, then I wish that she had not borne me and had not nurtured me!

11. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful وَلَيْتَنِي عَلِمْتُ أَمِنْ أَهْلِ السَّعادَةِ جَعَلْتَنِي؟ I wish that I had knowledge - Have You appointed me one of the people of felicity?

12. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful وَبِقُرْبِكَ وَجَوارِكَ خَصَصْتَنِي؟ Have You singled me out for Your nearness and neighbourhood?

13. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful فَتَقَرَّ بِذالِكَ عَيْنِي، وَتَطْمَئِنَّ لَهُ نَفْسِي. Then would my eyes be gladdened, and in that my soul reach serenity.

14. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful إلـٰهِي هَلْ تُسَوّ ِدُ وُجُوهًا خَرَّتْ ساجِدَةً لِعَظَمَتِكَ؟ My God, do You blacken faces which fall down in prostration before Your mightiness?

15. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful أَوْ تُخْرِسُ أَلْسِنَةً نَطَقَتْ بِالثَّناءِ عَلَىٰ مَجْدِكَ وَجَلالَتِكَ؟ Do You strike dumb tongues which speak in laudation of Your glory and majesty?

16. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful أَوْ تَطْبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبٍ انْطَوَتْ عَلىٰ مَحَبَّتِكَ؟ Do You seal hearts which harbor Your love?

17. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful أَوْ تُصِمُّ أَسْماعَاً تَلَذَّذَتْ بِسَماعِ ذِكْرِكَ فِي إرادَتِكَ؟ Do You deafen ears which take pleasure in hearing Your remembrance according to Your will?

18. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful أَوْ تَغُلُّ أَكُفَّاً رَفَعَتْهَا الآمالُ إلَيْكَ رَجاءَ رَأْفَتِكَ؟ Do You manacle hands which expectations have raised to You in hope of Your clemency?

19. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful أَوْ تُعاقِبُ أَبْداناً عَمِلَتْ بِطاعَتِكَ Do You punish bodies which worked to obey You

20. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful حَتَّىٰ نَحِلَتْ فِي مُجاهَدَتِكَ، until they grew thin in struggling for You?

21. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful أَوْ تُعَذّ ِبُ أَرْجُلاً سَعَتْ فِي عِبادَتِكَ Do You chastise legs which ran to worship You?

22. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful إِلَـٰهِي لا تُغْلِقْ عَلىٰ مُوَحّـِدِيكَ أَبْوابَ رَحْمَتِكَ، My God, lock not toward those who profess Your Unity the doors of Your mercy,

23. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful وَلا تَحْجُبْ مُشْتاقِيكَ عَنِ النَّظَرِ إلَىٰ جَمِيلِ رُؤْيَتِكَ and veil not those who yearn for You from looking upon the vision of Your beauty!

24. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful إِلـٰهِي نَفْسٌ أَعْزَزْتَها بِتَوْحِيدِكَ، My God, a soul which You has exalted by its professing Your Unity -

25. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful كَيْفَ تُذِلُّها بِمَهانَةِ هِجْرانِكَ؟ how will You burn it in the heat of Your fires?

26. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful وَضَمِيرٌ انْعَقَدَ عَلىٰ مَوَدَّتِكَ My God, a heart which has been knotted by its love for You

27. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful كَيْفَ تُحْرِقُهُ بِحَرَارَةِ نِيرانِكَ؟ how will You burn it in the heat of Your fires?

28. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful إِلـٰهِي أَجِرْنِي مِنْ أَلِيمِ غَضَبِكَ وَعَظِيمِ سَخَطِكَ، My God, give me sanctuary from Your painful wrath and Your mighty anger!

29. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful يا حَنَّانُ يا مَنَّانُ، O All-loving, O All-kind!

30. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful يا رَحِيمُ يا رَحْمنُ، O Compassionate, O Merciful!

31. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful يا جَبَّارُ يا قَهَّارُ، O Compeller, O Subduer!

32. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful يا غَفَّارُ يا سَتَّارُ، O All-forgiver, O All-covering!

33. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful نَجّـِنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ مِنْ عَذابِ النَّارِ، Deliver me through Your mercy from the chastisement of the Fire

34. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful وَفَضِيحَةِ الْعارِ، and the disgrace of shame

35. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful إذَا امْتازَ الأَخْيارُ مِنَ الأَشْرارِ، when the good are set apart from the evil,

36. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful وَحالَتِ الأَحْوالُ، وَهالَتِ الأَهْوالُ forms are transformed, terrors terrify,

37. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful وَقَرُبَ الْمُحْسِنُونَ، وَبَعُدَ الْمُسِيئُونَ، the good-doers are brought near, the evildoers taken far,

38. Munajaat #3 - The Whispered Prayers of the Fearful وَوُفّـِيَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ما كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لا يُظْلَمُونَ and every soul is paid in full what it has earned, and they shall not be wronged
