My Project • My senior project is a piano recital consists of different types of compositions from “the poet of the piano” Chopin, with a paper explaining and analyzing the musicology of Chopin’s works. Chopin is one of the most representative composers and pianists of the Romantic Period. My goals for the senior project is to learn the techniques, skills and expressive devicesrequired formy pianorepertoireand to gain more knowledge about the history of the Romantic period, the biography of Chopin and have a deeper understanding of his works.

  3. The Beginning • Junior year + last summer: study of the advertising and marketing strategies from Coca-Cola company • Senior year early October: switched to piano recital • Why the change? • True Passion

  4. Why Chopin? • Chopin is my favorite pianist and composer • 2010was the 100th anniversary of Chopin’s death so this recital is designed for more people to get to know and like Chopin.

  5. The Process • Choosing the pieces • Learn the notes • Add feelings and musicality to the pieces • Refine the pieces • Paper

  7. Discoveries • I can actually give a 30 minutes recital! • Staying in a practice room and playing piano can be fun • So many different techniques required to play a piece

  9. Personal Significance • 1st formal recital since 12 • 1st time working on a project over such a long period of time • Learned so much about piano, music, and myself
