Call and request information • Books and brochures in the college resource room • College fairs/representatives on campus • Visit the college campus (and meet with admissions)
Financial “Fit” and Financial Aid • No surprises! Your family must research the total costs of each college and your ability to pay. Use the tools found on the PVS website Paying for College/Funding Strategies • The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) completed in January of your Senior year will determine your family’s financial need • More info to follow next year. Attend our financial aid night next December/January.

Florida Bright Futures Scholarship • Florida Academic Scholars – 3.5 gpa*, 1290 SAT or 29 ACT, 100 community service hours • Florida Medallion Scholars– 3.0 gpa*, 1170 SAT or 26 ACT, 75 community service hours • You must submit community service approval form and be pre-approved

Special Circumstances • Athletes/NCAA Clearinghouse • If you are planning to participate in Division 1 or 2 college athletics, you must register with NCAA Clearinghouse http://www.eligibilitycenter.org/ • Complete “Athletic Transcript Request” and give to Mrs. Manders to send to the clearinghouse. • Military Academies • Begin application process during Junior year (Now!) • Go to websites for more information and to apply
Summer Activities • Create/add to/refine your resume • Attend summer programs, work, volunteer • Visit college campuses and refine your list • Research and discuss college affordability with parents • Review admission requirements and application deadlines for schools in which you are interested • Narrow down choices. Do not apply if you are not seriously willing to attend. Match and Fit!
