  1. Administrative Tools in the ISI Web of Knowledge February 2008

  2. What are the Administrative Tools? • The Administrative Tools are a set of utilities available in the latest release of the ISI Web of Knowledge. Access is limited to users who have been designated as administrators. • To be designated an administrator, contact your Account Manager, who will pass the request on to Thomson Scientific’s Web Setup team. • Administrators must be registered in ISI Web of Knowledge. • The Web Setup team will contact the new Administrator when permission has been configured.

  3. How does the Administrator access the Administrative Tools? • Log into the Web of Knowledge and select the “Additional Resources” tab at the top of the page.

  4. Administrative Tools in “Additional Resources” • The Administrative Tools section will be at the bottom of the page.

  5. Administrative Tools and Analytical Tools • Clicking on the “Administrative Tools” link will open a new window. • Links to tools will only appear if the customer has permission.

  6. Direct Link to Administrative Tools • Administrators can also link directly to an Administrative Tools page at http://admin.isiknowledge.com and log in there.

  7. What tools will be available in the first version? • Usage Reporting • EndNote Web Customization • Journal Use Reports (JUR) • Manage My Accounts Contacts

  8. What will happen to the current usage site? • The current site (http://reports.isiknowledge.com/) will be available until mid-February when the January 2008 data is uploaded. • After that, the site will be removed and customers who attempt to log in will be redirected to the ISI Web of Knowledge; however, they will not be able to unless they have been designated the Usage contact. • Customers who wish to be designated the Usage contact should get in touch with their Account Manager. • If a customer has an ID and password for the old Usage System, but has never registered in ISI Web of Knowledge, they will need to: • Register in ISI Web of Knowledge • Contact the Usage Reports team at ts.usage.reports@thomson.com • The Usage Reports team will confirm via email

  9. What can an administrator do with the EndNote Web Customization? • With this option, administrators can manage Site Bibliographic Styles, Site Connections, and Site Import Filters.

  10. What can an administrator do with the Manage My Accounts Contacts? • From this page, an administrator with the appropriate privileges can add, remove or edit the entitlements for all the other administrators in the account. • Web Set-ups will contact the customer when the change is made.
