Congratulations! • Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer trying to find a route to India to trade spices. • Through his voyages, he also hoped to spread his religion and find wealth and fame. • In 1492, with the help of Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain, he set sail with his three ships, the Niña, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria. • He landed in San Salvador in the Bahamas.
