  1. Why do prisoners want pen pals? Why do prisoners want pen pals? Prisoners want to feel loved. They want someone to share their sorrows with and somebody to talk with on a more personal level than what they do in the prison. In fact, some prisoners want pen pals because when they are let out of maximum security they will be completely alone in this world without a job or a family. These people need some kind of human connection which is greatly lacking in today's society and that is why inmates in maximum security prisons still write letters to others outside of their prison walls. I believe that there are many reasons why prisoners choose pen pals to stay connected with the outside community once they are released from prison. Prisoners want pen pals because they are lonely. We all know that prison is a place where bad people go because they broke laws, but it’s also a place where people can get lonely. Prisoners are isolated from society and their friends and family, which makes them feel like they don’t matter anymore. They want to connect with other people on a personal level, so pen pals are a great way for them to do this. Not only does it give prisoners something to look forward to every day, but it also helps them feel loved and valued again—as if they were still part of society instead of being locked away in isolation!

  2. They want someone to share their thoughts and feeling You might think that prisoners want male or female pen pals because they're lonely and want someone to talk to. And while that's true, it's not the primary reason. What prisoners really want—more than anything else—is for someone to listen. They have a lot of thoughts and feelings inside them and just want someone who'll listen when they need to get them out. Maybe you've had a conversation with a close friend or family member where you felt like all your problems were understood and accepted by that person? It can be very comforting to know that there's at least one person in your life who thinks you're doing great, even when everything is falling apart around you! That’s the feeling many prisoners crave: validation from someone on the outside who understands what they're going through inside prison walls. They want to be a part of society again. As you can imagine, prisoners want to feel like they're a part of society. They want to be able to connect with someone else who is on the outside, because they miss their friends, family and community. For this reason, some prisoners will write letters or emails asking for pen pals. Prisoners also feel isolated when they receive mail that doesn't come from a friend or loved one; this can make them feel even more alone in their situation than they already do. It's extremely important for prisoners to receive mail from friends and family so that they don't feel forgotten (and so that those close to them don't forget about them). Prisoners want someone to love them back. Prisoners are people. They have feelings and desires, just like the rest of us. They want someone to love them back, someone who cares about what they have been through in their lives, and some compassion after being locked up for so long. When you write a prisoner as a pen pal, you are giving them that chance to be understood and heard by someone who cares about them. When writing a prisoner as your pen pal, it is important to remember that they are still human beings with feelings and emotions that need to be validated by someone else or else they will feel alone in their experience which can cause depression. Writing letters and cards can help prisoners feel loved while they are away from home because this shows them how much you care about their wellbeing even though you might not know each other face-to-face! Pen pals help pass time in prison. It is no secret that prisoners have a lot of spare time on their hands. Most inmates are allowed to leave their cells for only about three hours a day, so it’s important for them to find ways to occupy

  3. themselves. In addition to working out, exercising or watching television in the common area with other inmates, prisoners often spend their time writing letters and reading books from the prison library. Pen Pals Inmates can help pass the time by sending letters or emails to your inmate at least once a week. You can also send pictures of yourself and family members along with photos from newspapers or magazines so that your pen pal will have something interesting to look at when he opens his mailbox each week (or every couple days). Having a pen pal provides the personal attention that inmates often feel is lacking in the prison system. Having a pen pal can be a way to connect with others. Many inmates feel isolated and lonely while they're in prison, and having someone who cares about them on the outside can provide a sense of purpose and belonging that prisoners often don't get in the rest of their lives. Pen pals also help inmates deal with mental health issues like depression, anxiety, or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Because they have little control over their own lives while incarcerated, pen pals allow inmates to take control of something meaningful: how they interact with other people and how they use their time for good things instead of bad ones that could hurt themselves or others. Some inmates have reported that writing letters helps them adjust to life after prison by giving them structure during what's otherwise an unstructured period of transition from incarceration back into society—and vice versa when transitioning into prison from outside life too! Writing letters helps people in prison pass the time and connect with others. Pen pals are a great way for people in prison to pass the time. Not only does it help prisoners feel less isolated and depressed, but also it can help them feel less angry, lonely and anxious. In fact, pen pal relationships have been shown to reduce recidivism .
