  2. About Us One of four comprehensive public schools in a city 79, 147 located in one of the lowest metropolitan areas in the United States. Edinburg, Texas is located approximately 10 miles from the Mexican border. Edinburg has an enrollment of approximately 2877 students, with an ethic mix of 95% Hispanic, 4% white, and 1% Asian/Pacific Islander. The teaching faculty numbers are of 175 certified faculty, with 35% holding advanced degrees.

  3. EHS Philosophy It is the purpose and mission of Edinburg High School to provide all its students with an educational program which will allow students to develop to their fullest potential intellectually, physically and socially order to be responsible and contributing members of society.

  12. EHS Special Education Program • The Special Education Department services 248 students. The program assist students’ with individual needs. The students needs range from challenges with learning, communication, emotional and behavioral disorders, physical disabilities and developmental disorders. • Students are serviced through mainstreaming (students with special needs are in classes with non-disabled students), Resource classes and Self-Contained classes. • Instructional strategies used are accommodations (reasonable adjustments such as change in presentation, response setting or scheduling) and modifications (changes or adapts the material to make is simpler).
