  4. Bed and Breakfast • A Wyoming bed and breakfast spoils you with tastes of local cooking and the friendliness of Wyoming people. Bed and breakfasts enable you to create a relationship with your hosts, often local experts who can tell you the best way to experience the area. Immerse yourself in the intimate environment of a bed and breakfast and take time to learn its history there’s often a fascinating tale or two about outlaws and other notable folks from the days of the Old West.

  6. Historic Sites • Breathtaking scenery, wildlife and recreational opportunities abound within the thousands of sprawling acres that make up Wyoming’s state parks and historic sites. From Cheyenne to Sheridan and all the towns in between, you’ll never be far from a picturesque state-park escape. Most have reservoirs where you can swim, boat, wind surf, water ski and fish, trout and several other species of fish. Other amenities such as camping, picnicking and biking and nature trails that lead to overlooks and scenic mountain vistas are widely available. While our historical sites give a glimpse into Wyoming's past.

  7. Half Moon Lake Campground • The Half Moon Lake Campground is located at 7600-foot elevation. It has 16 campsites (some with views of the lake) are on the western shore of Half Moon Lake, at the foot of Half Moon Mountain. There is a boat launch and a small beach are nearby. Trails from the campground lead east to smaller Little Half Moon Lake and Fayette Lake. Area activities include hiking, horse riding, boating, swimming, fishing, and water sports and wildlife viewing.

  8. Museum • Exhibits about Sheep Eater Indians, natural history and archaeology. Seven historic buildings interpret the history of settlers in the Upper Wind River Valley. The Charlie Moore Collection contains over 400 items of original furnishings from the CM Ranch during the years the guest ranch was owned by Charles C. "Charlie" Moore.

  9. State Park • Sinks Canyon State Park, six miles southwest of Lander on Highway 131, features a geologic phenomenon in which the Popo Agie River vanishes into a large cavern (the Sinks) but reappears in a trout-filled pool, The Rise, about half a mile down the canyon. A visitor center features wildlife and recreation exhibits, viewing sites and interpretive signs about wildlife and habitat requirements. The park contains hiking trails and offers camping, picnicking, rock climbing and fishing. Sinks Canyon is also home to a wide variety of wildlife, birds and plants. Visitors might see porcupines, black bears, red squirrels, bighorn sheep, mule deer, moose or golden eagles.
