Introduction – Pete Stevenson
  • Have been in IT for 26 years
  • Started as a Trainee technical programmer in 1980
  • Quickly moved into Storage Management
  • Stayed in Storage Management until 2005
  • Chair of GSE UK Storage working group for 6 years during 1990’s
  • Moved into Recruitment/staff development role in April 2005

  • Attract new (younger!) staff to Mainframe environment
  • Provide a structured career path for Mainframe Technicians
  • Provide structured development & training programs for Mainframe Technicians
  • More effectively measure staff/ECS progress against objectives and development plans
  • More effectively assess technical skills of technicians
  • More effectively assess technical skills of potential employees
    • Do they have all of the skills that they say they have?
  • Enable more effective targeting of resources
