  3. Make sure your notebook cover sheet looks like this. #. Date Brief Description 1. 8/31 V&P Problem 1.1, ACE 13-17 2. 9/1 V&P Problem 1.2, ACE 1-3, 18-20 3. 9/2 V&P Problem 1.3, ACE 4, 5, 26 4. 9/7 V&P Problem 1.4, ACE 6-9, 27 5. 9/8 V&P Problem 1.5, ACE 10-12 6. 9/9 V&P Unit 1 Summary, ACE 21-25, 28-307. 7. 9/13 V&P Problem 2.1, ACE 3,4,16 You Need: Calculator 2.1 Handout Big Idea: Analyzing Tables and Graphs Please Turn to Page 31 in your Textbooks

  4. Meals: $100 Per Person Accommodations (Camping): $75 Per Person Water: $10 Per Person Bike and Helmet: $ 50 Per Person $200 $350 $300 $400 $250 $500 Depends on the price…If a costumer pays $350 dollars and it cost $235 per person to go on the trip then they will make : $350 – $235 = $ 115 PROFIT

  5. At Adrian’s Bike Shop, what is the cost to rent 5 bikes? About $199 What is the cost to rent 25 bikes? About $750 What is the cost to rent 50 bikes? $1,500 At Rocky’s Cycle Center, what is the cost to rent 5 bikes? $400 What is the cost to rent 25 bikes? $875 What is the cost to rent 50 bikes? $1,200

  6. Lets Get to WORK!!! • Individually you will work on Problem 2.1 on graph paper • After 10 minutes you will share your results with a peer and compare ideas and finish answering Questions A-E together • At the end you and your partner will share your results with the class. (Groups chosen to share will be randomly picked…everyone needs to be ready to share their DATA!!!)

  7. Up to 35 bikes, rent from Adrian's. After 35 bikes, rent from Rocky's.

  8. B. Suppose you make a graph from the table for Rocky’s Cycle Center. Would it make sense to connect the points? NO, Because you can only rent whole bikes! Can you rent a half of a bike? Rocky's Adrian's Rental Fees $600 $1200

  9. Rocky's - 35 bikes = $1070.00 30 bikes = - $975.00 $95.00 $95 / 5 = $19.00 each 32 Bikes - $975.00 (for 30 Bikes) + $19.00 + 19.00 = $1013.00 Adrian's – 30 Bikes Cost: About $900 OR 40 Bikes cost $1,200 $900 ÷ 30 = $30 each $1,200 ÷ 40 = $30 each So…. $900 (for 30 bikes) + $30 + $30 = $960 OR 30 x $30 = $960

  10. Adrian's always charges $30 per bike. The graph goes up in a straight line. Rocky's bikes cost less the more you rent. Adrian's, # of bikes x $30 = cost Rocky's is harder, you have to estimate.

  11. Adrian's - Number of bikes x $30.00 Rocky's - 1. Look for two numbers the number of bikes you need is in between. 2. Subtract the cost for the lower number from the cost from the higher number. 3. Divide the difference by 5. 4. Add the quotient to the lower number cost once for each additional bike you need.
