    1. Recruiting Young Lions Student Member Program & Leo to Lion Program

    2. What is the Student Member Program? • The Student Member Program lowers dues for qualifying students in any type of Lions club and offers a special billing adjustment period to campus clubs.

    3. Why Target Students? • Campus students are an important target group for membership growth. They: • Represent the future of Lions Clubs International • Bring new energy • Inspire fresh ideas • Provide increased support for local and international projects • *There are more than 58 million students in the U.S. alone and millions more around the world.

    4. Why the Student Member Program? • The Student Member Program enables Lions Clubs International to: • Be competitive • Several organizes vie for collegiate membership • Students have difficulty accruing discretionary funds and indicated dues is the number one barrier to joining • To provide a recruiting opportunity for Traditional Lions clubs • Students are the next generation of Lions • To accommodate school terms for campus clubs • Club members may not return to school

    5. Why the Student Member Program? • The Student Member Program enables students to: • Afford membership • Join a Traditional, New Century, or Campus Lions Club at a reduced student rate and no charter/entrance fee • Extend the billing adjustment period for campus clubs, taking into consideration the typical school term

    6. How the Student Member Program Works

    7. Student Charter Fees & Dues • Students enrolled in school, through age 30, pay no charter fee and half international dues. • IMPORTANT: Students in campus clubs, and clubs with a majority of students, must prepay one year of international dues at the student member rate (US$19.50). The Student Member and Leo to Lion Certification Form (STU-5) is required for each qualifying student.

    9. How the Leo to Lion Program Works

    10. Results of the Student Member Program • The Campus Lions Club Program began in 1999. Since the inception of the Student Member Program on • July 1, 2007: • Campus Lions clubs have grown from 128 clubs to over 363 clubs • Approximately 6,600 students have been certified in Campus Lions clubs, plus more than 1,800 in Traditional and other types of Lions clubs

    11. Leo to Lion Program

    12. Why the Leo to Lion Program? The Leo to Lion Program lowers dues for graduating Leos in any type of Lions club, offers a special Lions club type (Leo Lions club) and lowers dues for the peers of graduating Leos joining a Leo Lions club.

    13. Leo Lion & Young Adult Charter Fees & Dues • Graduating Leos, between the age of legal majority and through age 30, have two ways to join a Lions club: • Be invited to join a Lions club and receive a charter/entrance fee waiver and pay only half international dues. • Charter a Leo Lions club, with at least 10 graduating Leos, and peers. The young adults who join, through age of 30, also receive the charter/entrance few waiver and pay only half international dues. • The Student Member and Leo to Lion Certification Form (STU-5) is required for each qualifying Leo Lion and young adult.

    14. Why Target Graduating Leos? • Like students, Leos and young adults represent the future of LCI and dues are a barrier to successful recruitment. • Young adults that presently volunteer are more likely to continue. • It’s easier to catch fish from our own pond! • Lions club members tend to recruit members their own age. • Existing Lions leaders represent LCI’s primary “sales force.” • Young adults under the age of 30 make up less than 2 percent of Lions (approximately 24,993 Lions). • There are approximately 144,000 Leos around the world!

    15.
