In any crisis situation involving fire, evacuation,lock down or shelter in place, the student’s • First responsibility is to the safety of themselves and the BGA Community. • Second responsibility act in a responsible manner and follow directions. • Third responsibility is to be responsible for their own actions and move quickly and quietly as directed. • Fourth responsibility is to be certain to assemble with their teachers and are accounted for by their teachers. • Fifth responsibility is to remember that personal items are not important, people are. • Sixth responsibility is to make sure that no cell phones or other electronic devises are used.

  5. StudentsRoles and Responsibilities Chart #1-Situation-Fire • Be aware of fire/evacuation routes. • Leave building quietly and orderly. • Follow teacher’s directions and stay with class. • Missing students should be reported to a teacher/CMT.

StudentsRoles and Responsibilities Chart #2 -Situation- Evacuation • Evacuate at sound when instructed to do so by Administration. • Do not touch electrical devices. • Be aware of fire/evacuation routes. • Follow directions of teacher and stay with class. • Go quietly to John Adams Middle School or alternate evacuation site.

StudentsRoles and Responsibilities Chart #3-Situation- Lockdown • Classroom door will be immediately locked and not opened. • Move to a safe area. • Disregard any fire alarms • Outside classes do not enter building. • All students remain silent. • Cafeteria students go under tables. • Library students go to the right side wall past the classroom windows.

StudentsRoles and Responsibilities Chart #4-Situation- Shelter in Place • No one allowed to leave or enter building. • Do not go to your locker, stay with class. • No cell phones or electrical devices. • Report to assigned areas, Main Gym, Little Theater, and Cafeteria. • Follow directions of teacher/CMT • Emergency boxes will be available. • Remain alert and quiet.

StudentsRoles and Responsibilities Chart #5-Situation - Tornado • Re - Locate to ground floor when you hear announcement by principal, • “Tornado Warning.” • TORNADO WARNING MEANS THAT A TORNADO HAS BEEN SPOTTED AND ITS TIME TO MOVE TO A SAFE AREA. • Do not go to your locker, stay with class. • No cell phones or electrical devices. • Report to assigned areas on first/ground floors. • Follow directions of teacher/CMT • Remain alert and quiet.

StudentsRoles and Responsibilities Chart # 6 - Situation - Hurricanes • Re - Locate when hear the announcement by principal, “Hurricane warning.” • A HURRICANE WARNING MEANS THAT HURRICANE CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED WITHIN THE WARNING AREA WITHIN THE NEXT 24 HOURS. • Do not go to lockers and stay with your class. • Report to assigned areas on first/ground floors. • Follow directions of teacher or CMT member • Remain Quiet and alert.
