  1. Science homework

  2. Purpose/Question Which types of fruit will sink or float, plum, apple, and grape?

  3. Prediction • I think the grape will float and the apple and plum will sink because a grape is very light and an apple and plum is heavy.

  4. Materials • 1 Small Grape • 1 Apple • 1 Plum • 1 Ruler • 1 Big Bowl • 10 Inch Of Water • 1 Medium Size Table

  5. procedure • First, I fill the bowl with 10 inch of water and put it on a medium sized table. I t check the amout of water with the ruler just to make sure the amount is correct. Then I put the plum , apple, and grape in the bowl of water and observe the fruits to see which one flouts.

  6. Observation • After I put the fruits in the bowl of water, I observed that the grape sinked and both the apple and plum flouted. But the apple floated higher than the plum.

  7. Variables!!

  8. Controlled Variable • What I didn’t change was the kinds of fruit, the materials.

  9. Independent Variable • What I changed is the amount of water to 14 inches in my investigation.

  10. Dependent Variable • I think the amount of water will affect the floating average or the sinking average of the fruits.

  11. Conclusion • My hypothesis was incorrect. The grape sanked and the apple and plum floated. The answer to my question was the grape sunked and the apple floated higher then both of the other fruits. NO, there were no problems in my investigation and there is nothing I’d do differently. My experiment applies to the real world because in orchards fruit grow on the trees and there is water falls in the forest. Fruits fall in the water. Many times some fruits sink and some flout, just like grapes, apples, plums, and other kinds of fruits. I learned that the most smallest object (fruits) (like sand) and that the objects somewhat heavy may flout in water.
