AFNI Website Overview: Information on AFNI Software and Resources

This hands-on session will provide an introduction to the AFNI website, where you will learn about the available resources and how to navigate the site. The agenda includes categories such as About AFNI, Getting AFNI, Learning AFNI, Search AFNI, Share AFNI, Meet SSCC. The session will cover topics such as AFNI documentation, downloading AFNI, learning resources, searching the site, and the SSCC community.   2. Introduction • Information is presented logically on the web site. • You will learn what is available and where to find it.

  3. Agenda • Categories for discussion: • About AFNI • Getting AFNI • Learning AFNI • Search AFNI • Share AFNI • Meet SSCC • We’ll spend about one hour going through all of these.

Vocabulary • It helps to be familiar with some terms: • URLs (Uniform Resource Lookups) • Similar to UNIX filesystem • /usr/bin • http://afni.nimh.nih.gov/afni • Accessible • URLs (for the most part) are in human readable form • http://afni.nimh.nih.gov/afni/doc/faq • Site Layout • The “physical” and logical structure of the site.

  6. More Vocabulary • It helps to be familiar with even more terms: • Site Logo • Click here to go home! • Site Tabs • “Big” Categories. • Site Navigation • This is your best friend. There is no “site map” (yet) but the entire structure of the site is accessible from here. • Site Quick Links • These links take you places quicker than the Site Navigation. • Legacy Content • This term refers to “content” imported from the old web site, some of which may be dated.
