  1. Point, Evidence, Explanation Blue Remembered Hills

  2. Below are 5 points about the key scene. Produce a P.E.E paragraph for both. • Angela wants to be liked by the other children. • Audrey has a cruel nature. • Donald has a difficult home life. • The children look up to the adults around them. • The children struggle to get along with each other.

  3. What makes a good P.E.E paragraph? • A clear point. • Evidence clearly shown by using speech marks. Be specific with your selection of the quote. • Your explanation should be detailed and focussed.

  4. Read these 2 examples Audrey has a cruel nature “Smack her one in the chops, Angela” this shows that she likes to watch other children suffer. ___________________ Audrey has a cruel nature “Smack her one in the chops, Angela” This shows the audience how Audrey is very quickly willing to resort to violence, throughout the scene she goads Angela into behaving in a cruel manner towards Donald, and encourages Donald’s retaliation “Smack her one, Donald” This desire to see conflict suggests that this is what Audrey thrives off.

  5. Now answer the questions. • Which example is better? • Why is this example better? • Now select one of your own paragraphs to improve.
