Respiration occurs in many step. Gasses exchange step between oxygen that entered with carbondioxide
What is our goal? • Knowing difference of CO2 content in the air of expiration and inspiration. • Understanding that water vapour as waste subtance of respiration.
What must we have? • Glass pipe • Lime water • Three pieces of reaction tube • Mirror • stopwatch
What should we do? Arrange experiment equipment like in figure below ! Blow expiration air through pipe 1A for 3 minutes. Observe What change happen ! Suck Inspiration air through pipe 2B for 3 minutes. Then observe the change happen ! Compare A and B experiment with tube c as control !
Our task : Please make the laboratory report about that examination in group !
What will we discuss? • Activities 1 : • How is the condition of limewater in A and B experiment? Why it happens? • Make conclusion from that activity ! • Activities 2 : • After blow to mirror, what does appear from that mirror? • Why does mirror become wet? Explain ! • Make conclusion from that activity 2 !
Expiration (releasing the air from lungs) is the air will be released from the respiration organs. Inspiration ( drawing the air into the lungs) is when we inhale, the air will enter the respiratory organs. 1.
2 Inhaled Air ( inspiration) Exhaled Air (expiration) Water Vapour various 100%
Activities 1 1. The equipment is :1. Glass pipe 2. Lime water 3. Three pieces of reaction tube 4. Mirror 5. stopwatch
2. 2. Tube A Exhale into the tube through straw number 1 for about 3 minutes. When we inhale, the air will enter the respiration organs. This air is called inhaled air. 3. Tube B Inhale the air from the tube through straw number 2 for about 3 minutes. On the other hand, when exhaling the air will be released from the respiration organs. This air is called exhaled air ( expiration)
Activities 2 • The mirror be clean. The dust in the mirror is fly. • If we wipe the mirror with our hand, we felt cold in our hand.
