  1. S6 Option Choices 2014/15 Responsibility Expectations Process New Examinations and Qualifications

Expectations…returning for S6 Contract to sign Attend all classes on time Wear School Uniform Wider Achievement opportunities to enhance post school destinations e.g. Peer Support, school duties, buddying, House Captains, Student Council, Work Experience, Charities and Eco Group, Sport Leaders, Saltire Award.

  3. S6 Curriculum Structure All Students must choose the equivalent of 4 full options in S6. You will be in timetabled classes for 28 periods per week with 5 additional study periods.

  4. Process • Option Interview with PTG • Speak to subject teachers • All deadlines to be met – 21st Feb for Option Forms • Check with universities and colleges – entry requirements • Open Days – max 2 in school time • UCAS • SDS

  5. Study Leave • Exam leave begins on 29th April • Folio & Coursework Deadline 2nd April • Students return 9th June - Induction

  6. What options do I have? • You have a free choice on your option form • You must choose 4 options • Ideally 3 Academic and 1 Wider Achievement • Options to attend school link courses at Ayrshire College, YASS, Peer Education, Duke of Edinburgh Young Leaders Award – these will all involve application and interview

  7. New Examinations & Qualifications • In S6 you will have the opportunity to study some of the new National Qualifications at National 3/4/5 level • The qualifications that you gained in S4 and are sitting in S5 align with the new qualifications
