  2. ¿Qué son los mandatos? • What is a command? • When you tell someone to do an action or not to do an action. • Commands are actions you tell someone to do now, in the PRESENT. • For example: Jump, don’t jump, talk, don’t talk, etc. • Commands are something you tell someone to do now, in the PRESENT.

Mandatos familiares negativos • Commands can be affirmative(positive) • They tell someone to do an action: Sit, Go, Run. • Or they can be negative. • They tell someone not to do an action: Don’t sit, Don’t go, Don’t run. • Commands can be familiar/informal(talking to tú) or formal(talking to usted).

  4. Mandatos familiares negativos • To form a negative familiar command (talking to tú) you follow three steps: • Conjugate the verb to the yo form - tomar(to take) yo tomo(I take) 2. Drop the –o from the verb. - yo tomo(I take) tom 3. Add opposite vowel. WHAT? -for -ar verbs add es, for -er/-ir add as.

  5. Mandatos familiares negativos • OJO (NOTICE): When forming the tú command, you DROP the subject pronoun. • Conjugate the verb to the yo form - tomar(to take) yo tomo(I take) 2.   15. En parejas (In Pairs) • With same partner that you made up a mini coversation using positive commands. • Student 2: Say an activity that you are doing using the present progressive. Use vocabulary that you know. • Student 1: Using a negative command, tell student 2 not to do the activity he’s doing. • Beneath 1st conversation, write 2nd conversation on paper when finished.
