  2. Aims of the meeting • To ensure continuity and progression in learning as part of school improvement and raising the achievement of children. • Collaborating transition of KS2 to KS3 as a whole school • planning meetings between KS2 and KS3

  3. Objectives... • To review schemes of work and apply it in our planning for term 2. • To examine the criteria required for achieving attainment. • To identify ways of maintaining the level of progress. • Ensure the NC level are well understood.

  4. Energizer… • Thumb Wrestling… Pick a partner and go through 5 rounds of thumb wrestling – in which you try to pin your opponent’s thumb down with your own thumb.

Aims and philosophy… • AT THE WINCHESTER SCHOOL we aim to provide for the development of mathematical skills and concepts as a means of making sense of the world in which we live while attempting to cater to the multiple intelligences of our students. • Our focus is to develop logical thinking, reasoning skills and natural curiosity, thus encouraging confidence to tackle situations which arise in Mathematics and other areas of the curriculum

  6. Reviewing the scheme of work • In pairs , compare and highlight the similarities seen in the topics in year 6 and 7 scheme of work.

  7. Group Discussion In groups of Three list strategies to be used to attain pupil progression

  8. NC levels • Individually read the material containing the NC levels . • In groups of 3 , make a mini presentation of the criteria required to achieve • Group 1 : level 3 • Group 2 : level 4 • Group 3: level 5
