Objectives of WBTi To provide critical information to governments, needed to bridge gaps in infant and young child feeding policy and practice To provide evidence to IBFAN groups to advocate for greater effort and investment to promote breastfeeding and optimal infant and young child feeding practices in the respective countries and regions To contribute to improved development outcomes in children, reducing undernutrition, child morbidity and mortality and improve women’s health.

  8. World Breastfeeding Trends Initiative (WBTi) • Quantitative measure of 15 indicators • Multiple questions for each indicator (1 or 2 points/question) • 10 points possible for each indicator • Range of WBTi score is 0 to 150
