  1. Shane Richie Set To Rediscover Caravan Parks For New Channel 5 Show With the caravan as we know it today having recently celebrated its 100th birthday, it seems fitting that there’s been plenty happening to mark the milestone – and later this year, a new programme on Channel 5 will look at what it truly means to be a caravan enthusiast in 2019. The show, Caravanning with Shane Richie, will see the EastEnders star head to holiday parks around the UK – and he was reportedly impressed with what local caravans have to offer these days. “Boy have they changed since I last stayed in one” According to the Female First website, filming for the show involved Shane dressing up as a pirate on a visit to Conwy Castle in north Wales, as well as retracing the steps of his own entertainment career when he took in the Isle of Wight. It was at the latter where he formerly worked as a bluecoat entertainer at Pontins holiday camp Little Canada. The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column apparently quoted him as saying: “It reminded me of when I worked on a holiday park – and I got to call bingo again.” However, it was also clear that Richie’s encounter with today’s caravans made a similarly positive impression on him, as he observed: “I was staying in luxury caravans – and boy have they changed since I last stayed in one.” Why not enhance your own caravanning experience this year? We certainly can’t wait here at Ferguson to find out more about what Shane makes of the caravanning lifestyle when the programme airs later this year. But in the
