  1. The thyroid is said to be a hormonal disorder that is caused either by over or under activity of the thyroid gland. There is no end to the side effects it may have on your overall health. Yoga, on the other hand, is known for balancing overall energy, flexibility, and stress relief for the human body. Doctors say that there is a deep connection between stress and thyroid malfunctioning. There are a few yoga poses that are known to restore the normal functioning of the thyroid gland and bring things back into balance. There are a number of studies and researches that speak well for the positive effect of yoga on the functioning of the thyroid gland. But please bear in mind that it’s not just yoga that can treat the problem, it is just a complementary therapy. It doesn’t replace the medication or treatment that you need to undertake to keep hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism under control. Also, before you start practicing any Yoga For Thyroid postures you must seek the guidance of a yoga expert and your doctor. Your doctor will customize the exercises according to your body type and level of problem. Please don’t try things on your own as it may have a reverse effect and cause other unwanted problems. Yoga For Thyroid Most of the yoga postures used for treating hyperthyroidism are used for stimulation of the throat. Regular practice of this posture improves the blood and energy circulation through the thyroid, stretches the neck, and gives strength to the muscles in this part of the body. However, before you begin make sure that you understand the ability and limitations of your own body. Take it easy and stop when you feel tired or exhausted. Yoga For Thyroid is to strengthen your body and rejuvenate its spirit, if you feel exhausted or tired you need to be gentle with yourself and let things be done one day at a time. Supported Shoulderstand:

  2. It is one of the first poses that is recommended for thyroid patients. The asana works against gravity and stimulates the blood flow through the glands located in the upper part of the body. It is believed that it has a positive effect on the thyroid gland and regular practice helps to bring it back to its original healthy state. You may either use a folded towel, pillow, or a blanket to support your shoulders. Be very careful while performing this asana and if you feel any kind of discomfort please discontinue. Please do it under the supervision of a yoga expert. Plow Pose: This asana is as useful as the shoulder stand. It stimulates the thyroid gland and is very helpful for those who find the shoulder stand difficult. If you are new to this exercise regime, please use pillows to support your feet. Fish Pose: This pose is the opposite of the shoulder stand. It has a simple mechanism and can be done on its own once you learn the technique. Both shoulder stand and fish pose are considered highly effective with respect to thyroid functioning. They improve the blood and oxygen flow through this and other glands located in the upper part of the body. As your head hangs back during the fish post, it improves energy flow through the thyroid gland. Legs Up The Wall Pose: Viparita Karani or the restorative inversion, this pose puts some extra pressure over the neck and relieves tension from the neck and parts located around it. It also improves blood circulation and helps in restoring the lost balance of glands. People who suffer from thyroid due to stress may find immense relief with regular practice of this asana. Cat-cow Pose: The asana allows fluid motion of the body which stimulates several parts of the body along with the thyroid. To perform this asana, you need to draw your chin into your chest and then expose your throat to this region. The asana is also beneficial for those suffering from stiffness in the back as it improves blood circulation through the spinal fluid. It enhances the overall energy level and mental clarity. Experts suggest the patients focus all their energy on their throats while performing this asana. Visit us: https://www.atoallinks.com/2021/treating-thyroid-with-yoga/
