Day Two- Slides #2-4 “What’s a ‘Matter’ Cutter?” said his mother when he came in with his bookbag one day after school. “I have ten things to do for homework, Lacrosse practice, and my favorite tv show is on tonight” cutter complained. “Alright, let’s tackle it one at a time, but first help me cook dinner.” his mother explained. “We are learning about Elements, Compounds, and Mixtures…” … “Stop right there! This is perfect in explaining how to make a cake, we need to bake one tonight for Daddy’s birthday”. Cutter’s mom said excitedly. “Elements are like the ingredients in the cake: egg, milk, flour, water, oil” They each have individual properties, Compounds are like the cake after the ingredients are mixed together. You can’t separate them apart”. She explained. “”Then what are mixtures?” Cutter wondered. “ • Protons, neutrons, electrons
