  1. Which Destination Would You Prefer to Visit on Holiday? BY Annika Drego and Rona Schwitter

  2. Method of Collecting Data For our assignment we surveyed 100 people within the ages of 13 to 15 on which destination they would most like to travel to. We achieved this by using a website that allowed us to devise a poll which we used to obtain our information. We then sent the poll to our classmates via facebook.

  3. Hypothesis The options on our poll were the UK, the USA, Thailand, Mexico, Greece, France, Japan, New Zealand, India and Spain. We hypothesised that the most popular travel destination would be the UK because it has a large impact on the music scene and there are lots of popular tourist locations. We thought that New Zealand would be the least popular as it is similar to Australia and seems less interesting in comparison to the other countries featured in our poll.

  6. Results The USA was the most popular destination, with 24 votes. Second most popular destination was Greece with 14 votes. The UK was third most popular with 12 votes. Fourth most popular were Japan and France, with 10 votes each. New Zealand and Thailand both came in fifth, with a total of 8 votes each. Both Spain and India were in sixth place, having six votes each. Lastly, Mexico was the least popular destination, with only two votes.

  7. Discussion We think that the USA was the most popular travel destination because it is well known for its food, it is cheaper to shop there, has many successful tourist attractions and is one of the central hubs of the world. We also think that Mexico was the least popular destination because it is a well known fact that Mexico is one of the dangerous countries on Earth, with high rates of homicides, drug dealing, robberies and kidnapping. It also doesn’t have many popular tourist attractions.

  8. Conclusion We successfully surveyed 100 students of Cheltenham Girls High School between the ages of 13 to 15 on which destination they would most want to travel to. Our hypothesis was proven wrong. We thought that the UK would be the most popular destination and New Zealand would be the least popular one, but in fact the USA was the most popular whereas Mexico was the least popular. We could have improved on our report by repeating our survey several more times for reliability, but the timeframe we were given, made it difficult for us to achieve this.
