  1. How To Choose The Right Web Designer? • Presented by • Lisa Romanello

  2. Questions to ask • When selecting a web designer for your company’s website, there are several vital questions to ask.

  3. Experience To begin, learn about the design experience of your potential design firm. Do they have experience with content management systems like Joomla or Drupal and working with “raw” HTML? Is the web design firm known to have created websites similar to yours? Do they have prior professional experience? Does the web designer you’re considering have experience with e-commerce able to host if you want to sell items online and accept credit card transactions?

  4. A seasoned web design firm will have a solid portfolio of websites created for previous clients—request and review links to other websites created by the design firm. Portfolio

  5. References Ask for customer references in addition to examining websites. Inquire with their clients about their experience with the web design firm. Were they pleased with the outcome? Did they get their money’s worth? What did they pay? Would they suggest them? How much time did it take?

  6. It is the most critical part Lisa Romanello says, inquire about how they handle payments. If they react quickly in a very business-like and professional way, this is a positive sign. Don’t be fooled if they respond with phrases like “Don’t worry, and we’ll manage” or “Whatever you’re comfortable with.” This is a recipe for disaster. Before you start a new project, get the price in writing. Prices

  7. Process for designing Make sure to inquire about the process used by your prospective web design firm. Do they create a website, or do they design one? An experienced Internet professional should be able to distinguish between these two ideas. If they don’t, they’re probably not as knowledgeable as they claim. Designing a website is a highly creative process, whereas building a website is a technically skilled process. Find out what the process is for the firm you are exploring from the start.
