  1. Electrical shock English for Workspace Hazem Anwar Essa

  2. Content • Some Definitions • What is the electrical shock, How does it happen??!!! • Danger of Electrical Shock • Safety form it • Helping • Summary

  3. What is about • Voltage is the force that causes the current. • Currentis the amount of electricity that is flowing. • Resistance slows down or stops the flow of current. • Ground is a physical connection to the earth, which is at zero volts and is a sink of leakage current • A neutral is the return path back to the source Circuit--complete path of the current

  4. Definitions Electrical shock • Occurs when part of the body completes a circuit between of different voltages or between an electrical source and a ground, which cause current flow in the body • When that happens, you might feel a tingling sensation.

  5. How does it happen???!! • Touch the metal parts of electric tools and machines may become energized, when the Grounded is disconnected • Water (Hand wet)

  6. How does it happen???!!(Cont.)

  7. How does it happen???!!(Cont.)

  8. Severity of the shock • Severity of the shock depends on: • Path of current through the body • Amount of current flowing through the body (amps) • Duration of the shocking current through the body,

  9. Danger of Electrical Shock(effect) There are four main types of electrical injuries: • Direct: • Electrocution or death due to electrical shock • Effect on nerves , brain and sometime • STOP of Heart (STOPED heartbeat) • Burns • Indirect – Falls • Workers in elevated locations who experience a shock may fall, resulting in serious injury or death

  10. Safety • Test the earth leakage circuit breaker • Be Sure all of wires isolated • Use screwdriver tester and Voltmeter • Don't touch any metal parts of electrical devices when it is energized(TurnON) • Be sure the Ground is connected to device, and DON’T never remove it. • Must have a isolated and not wet shoes. • Don’t plug in/out in wet hand Condition. • Don’t Touch any two or more wires.

  11. Helping an Electrical Shock Victim • Call for help immediately. • Often, a victim is unable to pull away from the current source. Use dry rod wood and isolator from the Ground • Stop the flow of electricity in the victim’s body — disconnect or de-energize the circuit. • Do not try to remove the victim from the current source. Touching the victim could cause you to be shocked as well.

  12. Finally, Some benefits of it • Is very important in the Hospital • Revive heart by using it • Self-defense • Is used by policeman

  13. Summery • Electrical shock: electrical current passes through the body. • To prevent it • Don’t be wet • Must be have shoes • Don’t touch the electrical wire • Be sure form the Ground is connected • Don’t persuade yourself know when you unknown • DON’T trust with everybody say I TURN OFF the source, check and see by yourself.

  14. Thank you
