Whether it is taking five classes for the rest of their time at school, taking summer/ winter courses, or taking additional semesters. • This is costly and inconvenient. • Programs in: • Maine • New Hampshire • Vermont • Massachusetts • Connecticut Having the ability to learn the difference between an interest in a subject and love for a subject is key to solving this problem. THE COMPETITION: • Major Match: An intensive online assessment, analyzing 33 traits, to help guide students to selecting a major that fits them. This assessment provides results as well as feedback relating to their strengths and weaknesses, how to develop skills, and potential majors they relate well to. • Higher Education Institutions: Programs focus mostly on classes for students to take to earn advanced college credit. • MyCollegeOptions.com: Solely focuses on what each major is and what it is you can do with that major. • MyMajors.com: Allows for students to take a generic quiz that asks questions such as what classes you have taken, how well you did in them, which classes you found the most interesting. The questions also covered what the student may have done for extra-curricula’s. • CollegeMajors101.com: Provides additional information for what the programs at specific institutions might offer, including competitions, publications, accreditation, as well as other information. • Close to two-thirds of all college freshmen are undeclared. • 50-55% of students change their major at least once during their time in college. The high school students would be able to hear from: • College students • Professors • Professionals • From various universities and companies that have different majors and fields of study.  • Major Works creates a realistic and personal experience for students to truly understand the purpose of each major. High school students have a lot of questions that go unanswered because they may not know they even have those necessary questions; Major Work's helps them discover and answer those questions. • Major Works provides an overnight experience filled with: • Interactive projects • Informational meetings • Fun activities for the students to partake in • This will all truly capture the excitement of going to college.
