  3. Banned Things • Bills of Attainder • Legislative act that seizes all your belongings without due process • Ex Post Facto Laws • Laws made after the fact punish something that used to not be illegal

  4. Grand Jury • Body of 20 to 24 who hear evidence • Determine if a case will go to trial • Issue indictments • DO NOT JUDGE TRIALS!!!

  5. Double Jeopardy • NOT A MOVIE STARRING ASHLEY JUDD!!!!! • Trying someone twice for the same crime with the same evidence • If Keon kills Monday, and Tuesday – TWO crimes exist • If Keon ONLY kills Monday, ONE crime exists

  6. Miranda Rights • Right to remain silent • Right to an attorney • Right to have an attorney present during questioning • If one can not afford an attorney, one will be appointed by the state
