  1. EDU-583 Final Reflection Don Ferrara

  2. How do you create a professional learning community that is committed to students and their learning? • Involve all stakeholders • Create a shared vision • Build capacity • Providea safe environment to take risks • BE BRAVE others will follow !!!

  3. Why is it important to consider the backward design model when designing curriculum, instruction, assessment, and technology integration? • You must know your standard, what are you measuring? • Time is valuable, use it wisely. • Differentiation is key, each student learns differently. • You can’t integrate learning tools without a strong plan and understanding of thecontent.

  4. Why do effective practices in technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge promote student learning? • Engagement , engagement, engagement! • Time becomes the variable, and learning the constant • Students realize success and then build upon that success. • Strengths do not cover up weaknesses, while weaknesses do not take away learned knowledge. • Teachers become stronger and more confident in their teaching.

  5. How do you design an engaging unit that integrates technology to ensure learning for every student? • Start with a measurable standard • Use technology to enhance instruction, not replace it. • Make sure you use authentic performance tasks. • Be open to alternative methods of ways for students to relay and show knowledge. • Make it fun! • BE BRAVE these are tomorrow’s leaders!
