  2. Class Assignments • Save all files created from class lab assigned work onto a floppy disk or a classlab folder on a zip or flash drive. • Be sure you have a backup copy – disks go bad. (You can always use WebCT to send yourself a copy.) • These files will be needed during exams

  3. Class Assignments continued • Printouts from class labs must be turned in by the date indicated in order to receive credit for them. • These printouts will NOT be returned to you until the end of that topic. Ask any questions about accuracy before turning the printout in.

  4. Lab 1 Objectives • You should be able to: • Start & quit Word • Describe the Word window • Enter text in a document • Check your spelling • Save a document • Format text & paragraphs

  5. Objectives - continued • Undo & redo commands & actions • Insert & resize clip art • Print a document • Open a document • Correct errors in a document • Use Word’s help to answer questions

  6. Class Lab 1/19 • Do pages WD4-WD62 • Turn in the printout from p. WD53 • Do In the Lab pp. WD 67-68. Turn in the printout from #16. • These must be turned in by the beginning of class on 1/24 to count.

  7. Lab 2 Objectives • Describe MLA documentation style • Change margin settings & line spacing • Use a header to number pages • Apply formatting with shortcut keys • Modify paragraph indentation • Add a footnote to a document

  8. Objectives - continued • Count the words in a document • Insert a manual page break • Create a hyperlink • Sort selected paragraphs • Proof & revise a document • Display the Web page associated with a hyperlink • Email a copy of the document • Use the research task pane to locate information

  9. Class Lab 1/24 & 1/26 • Do pages WD74-WD126 • Turn in the printout from WD 121 • Do #1 Apply your Knowledge on WD 129. Turn in #13. • These must be turned in by the end of class on 1/26 to count.

  10. Lab 3 Objectives • Create a resume with the Resume Wizard • Fill in a document template • Use print preview • Set & use tab stops • Collect & paste using the clipboard task pane • Format paragraphs & characters • Remove formatting from text • Identify the components of a business letter

  11. Objectives - continued • Insert the current date • Create & insert an AutoText entry • Insert a Word table, enter data into the table, and format the table • Address & print an envelope • Work with smart tags • Modify file properties

  12. Class Lab 1/31 • Do pages WD 138-WD 195 • Turn in the printout from WD 159 • Turn in the printout from WD 190 • Do 3 #1 only on WD 200 and turn in a printout • These printouts must be turned in by the beginning of class on 2/2 to count.

  13. Web Pages - Objectives • Save a Word document as a Web page • Format & preview a web page • Create & modify a frames page • Insert & modify hyperlinks

  14. Class lab 2/2 • Do pages WD 201-WD 215 • Print the Personal web page created on WD 214 and turn it in • This printout is due by the end of class on 2/2 to count.
