  1. Shepherd Selection Affirmation process details

  2. Affirmation Process • Ballots will be handed out during the assembly time on Sunday 8/19. • Those who will be out of town on 8/19 can pick up a ballot today and submit it in the locked box on the welcome table –OR- email to ruchabond@gmail.com before the 19th. • Ballots will be collected at noon on 8/19 and ballots submitted after that time will not be included. • Ballots are available today for those will be out of town next week. They are on the welcome table and can be submitted in the locked box.

  3. Possible responses for each candidate • I know this nominee and am confident that God has prepared him for serving as a shepherd, OR I do not know him but wish to affirm based on him having been nominated by a significant fraction of the congregation and affirmed by the other nominees (YES). • I know this nominee but cannot affirm his preparedness to serve as a shepherd at this time (NO). • I do not know this nominee well enough to affirm OR have another reason to abstain (ABSTAIN).

  4. How the results will be tallied

  5. Followership commitment I am committed to serve in this body and follow the shepherds affirmed by the congregation, even if they were not my personal choice.

  6. Reminders • There should be no campaigning for or against any of our nominees. This should be an honorable and spirit-led process. • To honor the one-person, one-vote principle, we are asking everyone to put their name ontheir affirmation ballot. • The content of all ballots will be kept confidential and will only be viewed by the committee members. • Please continue to pray for this process and encourage our shepherd nominees and their families.
