  1. Helpful Tips That Every Invisalign Patient Should Know I believe patients should enjoy the smile journey, and it is definitely possible. But it doesn't just happen; as with all things in life, it requires planning, discipline, and sacrifice. And it doesn't hurt to know a few tricks of the trade that alleviate the aches and pains that occur when straightening your teeth with Invisalign. Learn these five tips, and more importantly, integrate them into your daily routine from the start of your treatment to experience more comfort and joy throughout your smile journey. 1.Protect Your Mouth And Tongue Tongue irritation is another unexpected nuisance for most people when they start their clear aligner treatment. Your tongue is very active during speech and not always appreciative of its new surroundings!

  2. Those cold plastic trays are going to be in your mouth 22 hours a day, and your mouth is not going to like it. At least at first; as your treatment progresses, your mouth and tongue will naturally toughen up in response to your clear braces. Dental wax can be a lifesaver here, especially for any rough edges of the trays. Here's a tip on how to apply the wax: pinch off a small chunk and roll it between your fingers to soften it up. Then apply it to the problem area of your trays! For really sharp edges, you can use a nail file to smooth them out. 2.Remove Your Trays the Safe & Sanitary Way This one is more important than you might think, as improper removal can wreak havoc on your smile journey. One common mistake is pulling your trays out from only one side, which can warp the plastic and cause your trays to fit improperly. If you want a safe, sanitary way to remove your clear aligners, we recommend OrthoKey. It's got a small, ergonomic shape that fits conveniently in your retainer case so its with you wherever you need it! 3.Rinse, Floss, Brush You should keep your teeth and aligners clean, rinse with water after every meal or beverage. Remember floss to remove food that gets stuck in between your teeth. You can use a tongue scraper to clean your tongue in the morning and night after brushing your teeth and aligners (helps keep everything in your mouth fresh and clean). 4.Follow Your Doctor’s Plan Toronto Dentist recommends you keep them on for 20-22 hours a day. Because Invisalign is a removable plastic tray, it may be tempting to take them off often. Try to keep them on unless you’re eating or caring for your teeth. This is especially important for the first 48 hours, when you put on a new aligner. While you change aligners around every two weeks, you’ll want to commit yourself to follow the doctor’s orders. This can mean taking one aligner out early or leaving it in for a few extra days. Do not take it upon yourself to hurry the process.

  3. 5.Smile, Kiss, And Laugh Invisalign allows you to align your smile without the inhibition and discomfort of metal braces. You can look directly at the camera, laugh, take selfies, and kiss your partner spontaneously and without reservation. If you follow the habits described above, listen to your doctor, and lean into the process, you may find yourself smiling and laughing more freely than ever.
