  2. POLOGNE • Polandis a State of Central Europe. It is bordered by the Baltic sea, Kaliningrad's Russian enclave and Lithuania in the north, Byelorussia and Ukraine in the east, Slovakia and the Czech Republics in the south, and Germany in the west. The capital of Poland is Warsaw and the official languageisPolish. • The principal river of Poland is the Vístula. The principal cities of Poland are: Warsaw, the capital; Krakow, which is the former capital; Lódz, in the center of the country; Gdansk and Breslavie.

  4. LA PETITE POLOGNE • It is situated in the south of Poland, next to the Carpathians, near the border with Slovakia. • It is bordered in the north by the mountains of the Holy Cross, in the west by the Polish Jura, in the south by Tatra, Beskides and Pieniny.

  5. CRACOVIE • Krakow is the capital of Lesser Poland and one of the most important and ancient cities of Poland. It is placed in the margins of the river Vistula. • Krakow is considered a very important city worldwide.

  6. Poland has a continental climate with a thermal annual extent that is accentuated as you advance eastward, where it can exceed 20 °C of difference. In summer there are from 18 to 30 C of everage temperature, whereas in winter this temperature places under 0°C. The rains, which range between the 500 and 600 mm a year in the western areas, decrease eastward and increase in the mountains of the south. The warmest region is the Fall Silesia and the Small Poland.

NATURAL PARKS: Poland is one of the few countries in Europe which offers a variety of landscapes, preserved almost in its natural state and have a wealth of both the plant and animal world. • Wigierski • The lakes are the most interesting natural elements of the national park of the lake Wigry, located in the north-eastern Poland. The largest one is lake Wigry. These lakes are communicated through a network of rivers. Wielkopolski • The national park of Great Poland, located about 15 km south of Poznań, represents the unspoilt nature of the region of the lakes region of Greater Poland. It meets all the typical elements of the postglacial landscape: the hills,the glacial valeyss,of the lakes. Most of the park is covered with pine forests and wood mixtures. There are also rare species of plants.

  19. Swietokrzyski The mountains national Park encompasses the St. Croix mountains Bats (Łysogóry) whose highest mountain is the Łysica to 612 m. In this park you can find the oldest mountains of Poland, because they are composed of rocks dating back to the Paleozoic era. Bory Tucholskie The national park of the Tuchola Forest not only protects a small part, but the most interesting of this huge forest (Bory Tucholskie), which extends in a broad alluvial plain. This territory is mainly covered in pine forests shared with the valleys of rivers and deep glacial lakes.

  24. monuments Wawel Cathedral • It is the national shrine in Poland, in the city of Krakow. • It has a history of 1,000 years and it was the traditional place of coronation of Polish kings. • The cathedral is located on the hillside of Wawel. The kings and bishops of Poland have modified this cathedral, its chapels and their decor houses the styles and tastes of the time. • Today, the cathedral is one of the most important historical monuments in Poland.

  25. monuments The basilica of Saint Mary • The basilica of the Saint-Mary in Krakow is a church of gothic style. • It has three vessels and two square towers. On the top of the highest tower, a trumpeter key plays a traditional Polish melody each hour. • In the main facade there is a baroque portico pentagonal.

  26. monuments • The Florian Gate • The Florian Gate was historically the traditional entrance to the medieval town of Krakow, and nowadays it continues being a very usual point to initiate a visit to this Polish city. There was a rampart which surrounded the city for the protection of invasions. • This monument was 34.5 meters of height

  27. monuments The Fountain of the Student • The fountain of the student is a small monument, but it is very famous and full of charm. It has been done as a tribute to Veit Stoss and also as a gift to Krakow. This fountain stands on the square of Sainte-Marie . The student who is located on the fountain, looks pensive and is crying, for this reason we can imagine that the water that comes out of the monument are his tears.

(such as Krakowska mall, chocolates, fruit and vegetables, fish etc. ) • Shopping centres: Galeria Kazimierz (ul. Podgórska, 34) Krakow Plaza (al. Pokoju, 44) Opening time: Krakowska Gallery (ul. Pawia, 5): It is the largest shopping commercial center of Krakow. There are more than 200 shops and there are also restaurants and cafes but the prices are a little expensive. The shops are open from Monday to Friday 10:00 to 20:00, and on Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00.
