  3. FACE – BODY - GESTURE • Expressively uses non-verbal communication to clarify the meaning of the text. • Uses gesture and face to interact with the audience successfully. • Uses appropriate posture and gestures to create and maintain audience interest.

  4. FOCUS • Concentration is clear, constant and comprehensible. • Eye contact with audience is steady and engaging. • Maintains a charismatic and compelling presence in space (stage presence).

  5. CHARACTERIZATION • Characters are believable to listener (within the given circumstances of the story). • Uses appropriate character voices that may be differentiated from natural voice.

  6. USE OF SPACE • Seems comfortable, relaxed and confident in front of listeners. • Creates & maintains clear spatial relationships between characters and the audience.

  7. TIMING • The story is presented efficiently and keeps listeners' interest throughout. • Uses appropriate rate and pause to maintain audience attention and understanding.
