  1. ¿Masculino o femenino? In Spanish, nouns (objects or things) are either masculine or feminine. Nearly all nouns that end in –o are masculine. Nearly all nouns that end in –a are feminine. el libro= the book la ventana= the window el libro= the textbook el cuaderno= the exercise book la puerta= the door la silla= the door

  2. ¿Singular o plural? To make a noun a plural – you normally just add an ‘s’ There are some exceptions.If the noun ends in a consonant, add “-es”. If the noun ends in a “z”, change it to a “c” and add “es”. libro= book libros = books ventana = window ventanas = windows móvil= mobile móviles= mobiles ordenador= computer ordenadores= computers lápiz= pencil lápices = pencils

  3. ¿El, la, los o las? “El” means “the” – it’s for masculine words. “los” is the plural for “the”. “La” means “the” – it’s for femininewords. “las” is the plural for “the”. el libro= the book los libros= the books la puerta= the door laspuertas= the doors

  4. ¿Un, una, unos o unas? To say “a” with masculine words, we use “un”. If we want to make this plural, we say “unos”. To say “a” with femininewords, we use “una”. If we want to make this plural, we say “unas”. un libro= a book unoslibros= some books unapuerta= a door unaspuertas= some doors
