  13. Main Idea TAKE NOTES • Main idea: the idea that holds the story/text together; what the WHOLE story is about • Directly stated: main idea stated at beginning or end of story/text. • Implied: “read between the lines”; you have to figure out the suggested main idea.

  19. Main Idea and Music NO NOTES When we listen to music, we tend to find the main idea automatically. The point of today is to expose you to some (hopefully new) music…and for you to write down the main idea AND supporting details.
